Instructions for Washing Uniforms

Simple instructions for washing Wildcat Pride Uniforms

Printable PDF >

Garment
1. Wash the three pieces of garment separate from the others (pants separate from jacket, separate from gauntlets).
2. Turn the gauntlets inside out to protect the button; attach the velcro so it stays that way during the wash.
3. Wash the pants and jacket inside out.

Wash
1. It is okay to spot clean the white fabric with Spray and Wash, do not allow it to dry on the garment.
2.. Use mild soap. Do not use soap with bleach, or put bleach in the water.
3. Run with cold wash, on gentle cycle.
4. It is okay to put liquid fabric softener on the pants, not the jacket.
Drying
1. Instead of liquid fabric softener, you can turn the garments inside out and put both it in the dryer with a sheet of fabric softener.
2. Dry them on low cycle for 5 minutes.
3. Allow the three pieces to air-dry.

Scrip: Raise money while you shop

Posted April 23, 2011 by BDay
Categories: Uncategorized

The Wildcat Pride Booster Club’s new scrip program allows you to buy gift cards through the band and credit a percentage of your purchase to your band account. You can buy cards for everything from gas and groceries to home repair to your favorite restaurants.

Essentially, you can pay your band fees with money you’re already spending every day.

Sound too good to be true?  Here’s how it works. The company we’ve contracted with, Great Lakes Scrip Center, buys the cards at a discount and credits a percentage back to your band account.

Ready to get started? Download PDF flier (2MB) >

1. Create your scrip account here >

2. Use this program code: C258L6242857L

3. Be sure to list your student’s name in the space provided. This is how your account will be credited, so this is a must, not an option.

4. Sign up for PrestoPay to pay online or reload cards, or buy Scripnow (See below for more on this.)

5. If you don’t use PrestoPay, get your payment to school. (More below)

6. Pick up your cards on Tuesday nights in the band room.

Need more info? Read on…

There are three kinds of scrip money, two ways to order them, and three ways to pay.

3 Kinds of Scrip

1. Gift cards: Plastic cards loaded with funds that you spend at the retailer. When you order these, they are shipped to the Booster Club and you  pick them up on Tuesday evenings. You may pay for these with PrestoPay, check or cash.

2. Reloadable gift cards: Plastic cards  you can add more money to via scrip. Order the first plastic card online, then re-up when you need to using PrestoPay. Available for a specific list of brands.

3. ScripNow! Buy online, pay with PrestoPay, and print at home for immediate use. Available only for certain brands.

2 Ways to Order

1.  Online.  Create your account and shop away! Pay online, send a check to the blue box, or bring payment to the band room Tuesday evening.

2. On paper.  Come to the band room on Tuesday evening between 5:30 and 7 pm. Fill out your order and pay with check or cash. (Feel free to browse the possibilities online before you come.)

3 Ways to Pay

1. PrestoPay is like PayPal for scrip – it uses secure ACH technology to transfer your funds. This is the preferred method, and it allows you to pay online for more shopping options, too. Learn more, or register, here >

2. Bring a check to the blue box in the band room for the amount of your online order  by 7 pm on Tuesday evening. Put it in a sealed envelope and write  “SCRIP,” your name and your student’s name on the outside of the envelope.

3. Bring check or cash and turn it in during scrip hours Tuesday evenings from 5:30-7 pm in the band room.

All orders received and paid for by 7 pm on Tuesday will be ordered the following day and available for pickup the following Tuesday evening.

Start spending money – and adding credits to your band account!

Contact Stephen Douglass with any questions.

Bingo for Band

Posted April 13, 2011 by BDay
Categories: Uncategorized

Running bingo is currently the Wildcat Pride’s biggest fund raiser. It earns more than $30,000 — each and every penny of which goes toward reducing the cost of every member’s fees, whether you volunteer or not.

Our Booster Club, under the leadership of Bingo VP Dawn Martin, manages two nights a week of bingo for the VFW post on Powers Ferry Road near Harry’s. On each of those nights, about four booster volunteers sell tickets, run the cash register, work the floor, and call the numbers.

Several stalwart volunteers are moving on this year as their students graduate. Most say they enjoy the job and the bingo crowd so much they might come back to visit occasionally — like Dawn, who considers bingo her adopted family and continues to head this for us even though her son has graduated.

Earning Band Credits
“By the time Ian got to 9th grade, we’d already paid for his first year of band by getting involved in bingo and Papa John’s,” Dawn said. Please consider becoming a bingo volunteer.

For 3 to 4 hours of fun work, you get a $15 “thank-you” credit to your account, and the satisfaction of knowing that you’ve helped make our marching program a success.

Some paperwork and processing is involved before you can volunteer, so don’t delay.
